We had the pleasure to talk with Susanna Barkataki about her last book Embrace Yoga’s Roots. Barkataki is famous in the United States for promoting a decolonized and inclusive yoga practice. She emphasizes on how cultural appropriation, trauma and racism drove yoga traditions underground. Here we talk about how to make yoga a more freeing practice, how creativity can be a response to oppression and how to build more inclusive systems in or out of the White centered patriarchal and capitalist society we live in.
